Spicy Braised Green Beans

They're spicy, they're porky, they're delicious. Put them in your mouth.
Ingredients

2Lb(s)Fresh Green Beans (snapped and cleaned)

0.50Lb(s)Bacon

1N/ALarge Yellow or White Onion, diced

1N/ALarge potatoes, chopped

5N/ACloves garlic, minced

1Dash(es)Red Pepper Flake
-
1N/ASmoked Ham Hock

1Pinch(es)Cayenne Powder (to taste)

4Cup(s)Chicken Stock
Instructions

1 - Cook the Bacon in a dutch oven or heavy bottomed pot, remove and set to drain on paper towel

2 - Saute the onion and garlic till translucent

3 - Add ham hock, bacon and green beans, along with pepper flake and cayenne
-
4 - Add chicken broth till beans are just covered. After a couple hours you should be able to test the broth to see if you want more spice.

5 - Simmer on Low for approximately 1.5 hours

6 - Add your potatoes and cook for another 30 minutes or so, until potatoes are cooked through.
